If we are not at Lake Nenia, it is generally because we are off on an adventure.  We love sharing our experiences with like-minded adventurers so contact us for next dates if you would like to join us.

Stirling Range Adventure

For people who don't like crowds, enjoy being self-sufficient in a remote wilderness and really want to get away from it all there is no better place to go than the Stirling Range.

Unlike the tourist tracks leading up to Bluff Knoll (the highest peak in the Stirling Range) or some of the other popular peaks, these trips are not for the faint-hearted and offer a 'close up and personal' experience of steep slopes, jagged peaks and 'impenetrable' Australian bush!

Nenad  has been leading the following three treks in West Australia's rugged and spectacular Stirling Range for 17 years.  In fact, according to locals, the South-East route on Ellen peak had not been attempted by anyone for about 20 years until Nenad 'reopened' the route in October 2003.  We are always look for the road less travelled. :)

Ellen Peak Adventure

Ellen Peak is a remote peak at the eastern end of the range and provides the highest ascent in the range (800m from the plain to the summit).

It requires a long lead in walk along fire trails followed by a rugged 'bush bash' and finally a challenging scramble to the top.

After spending a night on the peak descend via the North-East ridge.

This trip can be done in one day with a 2.00am start and a 5.00pm finish but it is better to spend a night on the peak and descend the next day making this a 2 day, 1 night trip (not including travelling time to and from Perth or Albany).

Price: $535

Half Ridge Walk

Although the total distance covered is only 13km this is a gruelling but immensely satisfying alpine ‘walk’ through some of the most rugged terrain Western Australia has to offer.

The Walk can be done from East to West (Ellen Peak to First Arrow) or West to East (First Arrow to Ellen Peak). Unlike the Full Ridge Walk the Half Ridge Walk forms a circuit and thus is easier from a logistics point of view while still including the very best of the far eastern peaks.

This trip can be done in two days with one night spent on the ridge but it is better to spend two nights,  making this a 3 day, 2 night trip (not including travelling time to and from Perth or Albany).

Price: $525 one night ($685 two nights)

Full Ridge Walk

Unlike the Half Ridge Trek this is not a 'circular' hike.  This trip requires heavier packs with more food and water than the other trips and is thus only for those looking for a tough challenge.

It can be done from West to East (Bluff Knoll to Ellen Peak) or East to West (Ellen Peak to Bluff Knoll). The total distance covered is 19km over some very difficult terrain.

This trip can be done in two days with one night spent on the ridge but it is better to spend three nights, the making this a 4 day, 3 night trip (not including travelling time to and from Perth or Albany).

Price: $685 two nights ($820 three nights)
